Zoom percentage
This box displays the current view scale percentage. (The preset is 100%.) Click the zoom percentage box to toggle between the current level of magnification and 100%.

Show/Hide panel
Click this icon to hide or show the tool palette, or to hide or show the status panel in database documents. Clicking the icon again reverses the effect.
Page number
This box indicates the current page number(s) of the active document.
Split bar
The split bars divide a window into panes, so you can see different parts of one document at a time. To resize a pane, drag the split bar to the desired position. To remove a split, drag the split bar to the edge of the window.

Scroll bar
To scroll a little at a time, press one of the scroll arrows. To scroll by the windowful, click in the grey bar. To scroll to another part of the window, drag the scroll box.
Fill color
Click this tool to choose a fill color from the color palette.
Fill pattern
Click this tool to choose a fill pattern from the pattern palette.
Fill indicator
This box shows the preset fill color and fill pattern.
Pen color
Click this tool to choose a pen color from the color palette.
Pen pattern
Click this tool to choose a pen pattern from the pattern palette.
Pen indicator
This box shows the preset pen width, color, and pattern.
Line width
Click this tool to choose a line width from the submenu. Lines are preset to 1-point width. To set line width over 8 points, choose Other from the line width submenu.
Arrowheads
Click this tool to choose an arrowhead from the arrowhead submenu.
Graphics tool
Click this tool to select objects, or to switch to the graphics environment.
Text tool
Click this tool to type text, switch to the text environment, or create and edit text frames.
Spreadsheet tool
Click this tool to enter data in a spreadsheet, switch to the spreadsheet environment, or create and edit spreadsheet frames.
Line tool
Click this tool to draw horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines.
Rectangle tool
Click this tool to draw rectangles or squares.
Rounded rectangle tool
Click this tool to draw rectangles or squares with rounded corners.
Oval tool
Click this tool to draw ovals or circles.
Arc tool
Click this tool to draw an arc. Click in the document and drag from one point to another to shape the arc.
Polygon tool
Click this tool to draw a polygon. Click in the document, move the mouse in the desired position, click again, and repeat to shape the polygon. Double-click or press Enter to finish.
Freehand tool
Click this tool to draw curving or irregular freehand lines.
Database book
Use this icon to move between records in Browse and between find requests in Find. To move one record at a time, click a book page. To move across several records, drag the database bookmark up or down.
Visible
To find all matching records in the currently visible found set, click this button.
All
To find all matching records in the entire database document, click this button.
Omit
To exclude those records matching the find request(s), click this box.
Entry bar
Use the entry bar area to add, edit, or view the contents of a cell. If the cell contains a formula, the entry bar shows the formulaΓÇÖs text, while the cell shows the result.
Address box
This box shows the address of the current cell or range.
Accept entry
To enter the contents of the entry bar into the current cell, click this icon.
Cancel entry
To cancel any changes made in the entry bar and leave the cell contents intact, click this icon.
Left tab
To set a tab to the left of text, drag this tab marker onto the text ruler.
Center tab
To set a tab in the center of text, drag this tab marker onto the text ruler.
Right tab
To set a tab to the right of text, drag this tab marker onto the text ruler.
Align-on (decimal) tab
To align tabbed text on either side of a specific character you choose, drag this tab marker onto the text ruler. To specify a different tab character, double-click the align-on tab marker.
Decrease line space
To decrease the spacing between lines, click this icon.
Increase line space
To increase the spacing between lines, click this icon.
Line/Points toggle
To toggle line space measurements between inches and points, click here. Switching to points lets you set more precise line spacing.
Align left
To align text on the left margin (preset), click here. The right margin is ragged.
Align center
To align text in the center of the page between the left and right margins, click here. Both margins are ragged.
Align right
To align text on the right margin, click here. The left margin is ragged.
Justify
To align text evenly along both left and right margins (full justification), click here.
Import Options toggle
Click on this toggle to show or hide the import options.
